Yikong YK4107 Pro Brushless RC Crawler Launch

By Daniel Jethro Monzada Uncategorized

The Yikong YK4107 Pro brings brushless performance to one of Yikong’s most capable 1:10-scale crawler platforms. It combines responsive power, trail-focused features, and realistic scale detail in one ready-to-run package.

At its heart is a 2100KV brushless motor paired with a 60A electronic speed controller. In addition, the truck features portal axles, remote differential locks, two-speed gearing, and a low-center-of-gravity chassis.

The result is a versatile RC crawler built for technical obstacles, weekend trail runs, and scale adventures.

Brushless power comes standard

The biggest upgrade in the Yikong YK4107 Pro is its brushless power system.

Yikong equips the vehicle with a 2100KV brushless outrunner motor and a 60A ESC. Compared with a brushed motor, this system provides quicker throttle response and improved efficiency. It also requires less routine motor maintenance.

According to Yikong’s power-system overview, the motor works with a two-speed transmission to deliver strong and smooth power.

The ESC supports compatible 2S and 3S LiPo batteries. Therefore, drivers can choose a battery setup that suits their preferred driving style.

A compatible 2S battery is a practical choice for controlled crawling and everyday trail use. Meanwhile, a compatible 3S setup provides more wheel speed and stronger acceleration.

Always follow Yikong’s instructions when selecting a battery, charger, and gearing combination.

Two-speed transmission

Different terrain requires different gearing. For that reason, the Yikong YK4107 Pro includes a remotely operated two-speed transmission.

Low gear provides better control during steep climbs and technical rock sections. It allows the driver to make smaller throttle adjustments while carefully positioning the tires.

High gear provides more speed for open trails and smoother terrain. As a result, the vehicle can move between technical crawling and faster trail driving without a manual gear change.

Drivers can switch between high and low range through the transmitter.

Remote differential locks

The vehicle includes remotely controlled front and rear differential locks.

Open differentials allow the wheels on each axle to rotate at different speeds. This helps the vehicle turn naturally on firm, high-traction surfaces.

However, an open differential can allow one wheel to spin when the terrain becomes uneven. Locking the differentials helps send power to both wheels on the selected axle.

Drivers can engage the locks when extra traction is needed. They can then open them again for tighter and smoother steering.

This gives the YK4107 Pro more flexibility across rocks, loose soil, steep climbs, and narrow trails.

Tank-turn functionality

Large scale crawlers can be difficult to reposition in confined areas. The YK4107 Pro addresses this with a transmitter-controlled tank-turn or tight-pivot function.

This feature helps the vehicle rotate within a smaller area. For example, it can be useful between rocks or on narrow trail sections.

It can also help a driver adjust the vehicle’s angle before attempting a difficult obstacle.

Portal axles for additional clearance

Front and rear portal axles are standard equipment on the Yikong YK4107 Pro.

Portal axles position the axle housings higher than the center of each wheel. Therefore, they provide more clearance around the drivetrain.

This design helps the vehicle move over rocks, roots, and deep trail ruts. The portal reduction also supports controlled low-speed performance.

Together with the crawler tires, the portal axles give the YK4107 Pro a confident stance on rough terrain.

Low-center-of-gravity chassis

A low center of gravity can improve stability on steep or uneven surfaces. Yikong uses an LCG chassis layout to keep more of the vehicle’s weight low.

This helps reduce excessive body movement during climbs and side-hill sections. In addition, it gives the driver more confidence when approaching uneven obstacles.

Weight distribution can still be adjusted with battery placement and optional upgrades. However, the standard chassis provides a capable foundation from the start.

High-torque steering system

Steering is handled by a 25 kg high-torque metal-gear servo.

A strong steering servo is important when large crawler tires become loaded against rocks. It also helps the vehicle maintain steering control on high-grip surfaces.

Yikong includes a steering buffer-protection system. This is designed to reduce the shock transferred to the servo during impacts or wheel binding.

The published maximum steering angle is approximately 40 degrees. Therefore, the truck can navigate tight trail sections despite its scale proportions.

Metal hydraulic shock absorbers

The YK4107 Pro uses full-metal, oil-filled hydraulic shock absorbers.

These shocks help control chassis movement on climbs and descents. Meanwhile, the suspension allows the tires to follow uneven terrain.

The suspension can be tuned to match different surfaces and driving styles. Owners may adjust preload, ride height, shock oil, and weight distribution as their setup develops.

Trail-ready dimensions

The published specifications for the Yikong YK4107 platform include:

  • Scale: 1:10
  • Length: approximately 521 mm
  • Width: approximately 247 mm
  • Height: approximately 267 mm
  • Wheelbase: approximately 325 mm
  • Vehicle weight: approximately 3.1 kg
  • Tire size: approximately 116 × 42 mm
  • Approach angle: approximately 58 degrees
  • Departure angle: approximately 52 degrees
  • Steering angle: up to approximately 40 degrees

Measurements can vary slightly based on tires, suspension setup, and vehicle configuration.

Detailed scale body

Performance is only part of the YK4107 Pro experience. The model also features a detailed polycarbonate body with transparent windows and a simulated interior.

The body uses a magnetic mounting system. As a result, there are no conventional body clips interrupting the exterior appearance.

Magnetic mounts also make it easier to remove the body for battery access and maintenance.

The Pro version is known for its distinctive green finish. However, final colors and body configurations may vary by shipment and market.

Remote-controlled LED lighting

A functional LED lighting system adds realism to the vehicle. It also improves visibility during evening trail sessions.

Drivers can operate the available lighting functions from the transmitter. Exact lighting modes should be confirmed using the instructions included with the vehicle.

YK4107 Pro versus the standard YK4107

The main difference between the two models is the power system.

The standard YK4107 uses a conventional 550-size brushed motor. It remains a practical choice for drivers who prefer a simple and affordable setup.

In comparison, the YK4107 Pro uses a 2100KV brushless motor and 60A ESC. The brushless system provides faster response, improved efficiency, and less motor maintenance.

Both versions retain important crawler features. These include portal axles, two-speed gearing, differential locks, hydraulic shocks, and detailed scale styling.

However, the Pro is the stronger choice for drivers who want brushless performance without immediately replacing the original electronics.

Who is the YK4107 Pro for?

The Yikong YK4107 Pro is suited to drivers who want a feature-rich crawler straight out of the box.

Beginners can use low gear for controlled trail driving. Meanwhile, experienced enthusiasts can explore the vehicle’s differential controls, brushless performance, and tuning options.

It is also a strong option for scale enthusiasts. The detailed body, interior, lighting, and hidden body mounts create a realistic trail appearance.
